Chicago, IL – Since the 2010 baseball season is now in full swing, we will take the next several days to introduce our 2010 baseball clients. Today’s installment spotlights Chris Tremblay, SS/2b, San Diego Padres organization.
Chris was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft out of Kent State University (564 overall). Chris ended his collegiate career at Kent State with a .322 batting average, and left as the school’s all-time leader in career assists (591), #3 in career at bats (804), and #4 in career hits (259). Additionally, he was named the 2009 MAC Tournament MVP.
Upon being drafted by the Padres, Chris was sent to the team’s Short-Season club in Eugene, Oregon. It didn’t take long for Chris to show the Padres’ brass that he was a special player. After 34 games in Eugene, Chris was promoted to the High Class A club in Lake Elsinore, CA. He was then invited to participate in the team’s instructional league in Peoria, AZ, where he continued to display stellar defense, great speed, and improved hitting.
After a brief stint in extended Spring Training in 2010, Chris was designated to begin the season with the club’s Lake Elsinore team once again. In addition to playing shortstop, he is also displaying his versatility by playing second base, as well. Chris is in for a great 2010 season, and expects to see dividends from an extensive off-season training program in which he added 10 lbs. of muscle.
We look forward to big things from Chris in 2010!!
