Our third client spotlight for the 2010 season is on LHP Shane Zegarac. Shane was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 42nd round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft out of St. Joseph’s (IN) College.
Shane Zegarac, LHP
Shane spent his ’09 campaign with both the Rangers’ Rookie League team, and the Short-season club in Spokane. In a combined 18 games out of the bullpen, Shane posted a 3.58 ERA in 27.2 IP, with 31 SO and 18 BB.
Shane worked extremely hard during the off-season and added approximately 3-4 mph to his fastball. As a result of this very pleasant surprise for the Rangers’ coaching staff, Shane opened the 2010 season with the team’s High Class A club in Bakersfield, CA, where he will continue to shine as the 8th inning specialist. 2010 promises to be a break-out year for Z!
