Chicago, IL – NPG Sports congratulates client Chris Tremblay on his very successful first year in professional baseball.
Chris was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft out of Kent State University. Immediately after being selected, Chris was sent to the team’s Short-Season club in Eugene, OR. He quickly displayed his defensive skills and his ability to make contact, and was elevated to the team’s High A club in Lake Elsinore, CA. Chris was then invited to participate in the Padres’ fall Instructional League in Arizona, where he demonstrated that he is a true prospect.
Chris finished his college career at Kent State as the school’s career leader in assists (591). He was a career .322 hitter, and finished 3rd in career at bats (804) and 4th in career hits (259). He was also named the 2009 MAC tournament MVP.
