Peyton Gray signs minor league contract with Rangers

Columbus East graduate Peyton Gray has signed a minor league baseball contract with the Texas Rangers.

Gray, who was in the Cincinnati Reds minor league system last year, has spent the past two winters playing in Liga ARCO in Mexico. He had a 0.20 ERA, converted all 24 of his save opportunities and had 65 strikeouts and 15 walks in 44.2 innings over those two winters.

Prior to that, Gray spent three seasons with the Independent Milwaukee Milkmen. He was the 2020 AAPB Rookie of the Year, 2020 Miles Wolff Cup Champion and a 2023 AAPB All-Star.
